M.Sc. Applied Mathematics
The programme MSc in Applied Mathematics is one of two postgraduate programmes delivered by the School of Sciences. It offers a broad range of topics in applied mathematics and is suitable for applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds. The programme will emphasise the use of mathematics to solve problems and will build students' mathematical knowledge and their ability to analyse problems and apply advanced mathematical techniques in a rigorous manner.
The department of Mathematics and Statistics has reputed faculty in different areas of research. Expertise in the department encompasses a broad range of topics, including Mechanics, Analysis, Algebra, Industrial & Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing. The curriculum designed by department experts for this programme covers the major areas of mathematical techniques, modelling and computing skills required to become a modern applied mathematician.
Courses in this program are taught by faculty who have obtained Doctorate from various institutions of national importance such as IITs and NITs.
It is designed to cater not only for those who wish to develop an advanced level of mathematical knowledge and practical skills relevant to problem solving in diverse, real-world contexts but also for those that simply wish to develop their understanding and appreciation of a fundamental branch of mathematics.
