Design Thinking @SRU
Center for Design was established with an aim to inculcate Design Thinking into the minds of engineering students,with the aim being to enhance their creative and innovative skills, helping them to establish their own values by solving the problems of society. It has Artists, Technocrats, Logical thinkers, Designers and Engineers who can correlate technology with innovativeness at reasonable costs, coming up with good, simple and functional designs.
Activities
SketchOn event enablestudents to ideate instantaneously in a given Time box and communicate through storytelling
Students along with faculties take part in the Design Thinking Workshop to develop innovative solutions & ideas applying Design Thinking process, thus gaining hands-on experience
Design Sprints are Time-boxed, aimed at developing solutions for User-Centric Problems using Design Process
Design Hackathons are time-constrained, focused on ideating towards technology centric solutions using Design Thinking Process
Sankalp is a Product Expo organized by Centre for Design where B.Tech I year studentsexhibit their innovative ideas and prototypes
Abhivyaktais a Mega Innovation Expo where 400+ students participate with 100+ prototype exhibits

Student Projects
Design courses offered to students in the B.Tech curriculum boosts their creativity to invent. As a result of multidisciplinary and collaborative efforts, they produce User Centric and Technology Centric products using Design Thinking process.
