Undergraduate students of SR University who are not majoring in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) have the option to take a Minor in CS.
A Minor in Computer Science (CS) is advantageous to those undergraduate students who wish to augment their major with that of Computer Science Courses. A minor in Computer Science can help them to acquire academic background for higher studies in CSE branch and equip them with practical applications of CSE through Labs and simulation experience. The courses such as Databases, Operating Systems & Algorithms nurtures the student towards concepts of Computer Systems.
Specifically, the students of other branches of engineering such as Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Civil have an opportunity to expand their breadth of study and will have an advantage in bagging IT placements.
Product based IT companies offering high packages recruit students having CS background. Having few Computer Science courses may open up opportunities to non CS graduates in Product based IT companies.
A minor in Computer Science can help them to acquire academic background for higher studies in CSE branch in India and Abroad.
