OVERVIEW

Hackathon’22 is a University level initiative to provide our students a platform to identify and provide solution to some of the pressing problems that we face in our day to day life, thereby inculcating a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving.

Hackathon’22 is a seamless digital product development competition, where burning problems of the society are posed to technically enriched students in order to come up with innovative solutions.

Hackathon’22 is aimed at identifying ten different themes that address the current and future pressing problems in the society. The themes include problems pertaining to agriculture, Drones, etc. More information related to these themes can be seen in problem statements tab.

Themes identified for the Hackathon’22:

  • Agriculture

  • Smart Vehicles

  • Blockchain & Cyber Security

Problem Statements:

Theme-1: Robotics & Drones

Title of PS Drones for Fast and safe delivery
Description Delivering parcels by e-commerce companies from the delivery center to customers using drones to reduce delivery time and safety aspects of delivery. We are now living in a generation in which every door delivery is made by a man. So, in order to take a step forward in technology, we would like to propose a project "Drone Delivery - Take a Step Forward in Technology." In this project, we want to build a drone that follows the commands of Google's Voice Navigation and delivers the merchandise to the customer's specified location. In this project, we will include software that navigates the Drone to the client's address using voice instructions, as well as a display for the customer to acknowledge. When the merchandise is delivered to the consumer, he or she will get an OTP and a call. When the consumer receives a call, he or she checks the door for the product. If the product is delivered, the customer must accept it by entering the correct OTP and hitting the OK button on the Drone's display. If no one receives the delivery with the proper acknowledgment, the drone departs within 10 minutes after landing. If the OTP entered is correct, the product is handed over to the customer; otherwise, it is not handed over to the customer. If an unauthorized individual attempts to take the product from the Drone, the Drone delivers them a minor shock to release them and flies from there to a nearby Office to deliver the next product in the sequence.

Additional Info Technologies: Cloud Computing Artificial Intelligence Drone technology API’s required: Google Map’s API with Voice navigation
Expected Outcome Traffic has increased a lot in the towns/cities, it became very difficult to deliver anything (Medicines, Goods and many) in a less time. So, we require an efficient mechanism which help us to deliver the goods in a less time with accurate authentication. Drones are very helpful to deliver goods in a faster way.

Theme-2: Disaster Management

Title of PS Automatic potholes and humps identification system
Description One of the most serious issues confronting developing countries is road safety. Potholes are caused by ageing roads and poor road-maintenance systems, and their numbers increase over time. Potholes endanger road safety and reduce transportation efficiency. Furthermore, they are frequently a contributing factor in car accidents. Roads should be well maintained in order to boost the country's economy. Identification of distress, such as potholes and humps, not only assists drivers in avoiding accidents or vehicle damage, but also aids in road maintenance. A pothole detection system is a tool that alerts drivers to uneven roads, potholes and humps in their path.

Additional Info Objective can be achieved through either Machine Learning Models or can be a IOT based sensor model. Any new ideas are also welcomed.
Expected Outcome If there is an pothole detection system there will be two advantages: first you may avoid your car getting stuck into it and second the corporation or the responsible authority can refer it for further action like maintaining the road etc. Developing an automatic pothole detection system help people driving their vehicle when the roads are flooded or damaged.

Theme-3: Smart Education

Title of PS Indian Universities Entrance exams Scheduler
Description An integrated entrance exam calendar in all the Indian universities will bring better integration for the students going to different institutions for the higher degree program. This will also help government agencies to implement their schemes in all the academic institutions effectively due to a single integrated manner.

Theme-4: Tourism

Title of PS To develop Mobile software for guiding the tourist (Medaram Jatara, Ramappa Temple & other places) in Telangana state
Description Tourism is a one source of income for the state/country. To give it further boost, the Govt wants to create a tourist friendly application which will have the details of all the Medaram Jatara, Ramappa Temple & other important places present in the state. Theme-5: Agriculture

Title of PS An Intelligent System to predict the disease of an effected crop/plant.
Description As the farmer's population is enormous in our country, It is very hard for a agricultural scientist to suggest and help each farmer individually. The aim of this project is to provide an easy and effective way for the farmers to predict the disease of an effected crop. The farmer should take a photograph of the diseased crop and upload it. The experts/scientists who would watch the photograph, Identify the disease and provide appropriate suggestions to the farmers.

Expected Outcome Farmers of the country can upload the photographs of disease affected plants/crops and appropriate solutions may be provided by experts/scientists linked to the app.

Theme-6: Healthcare

Title of PS Teenage health
Description Girls around the nation and world do not have access to reliable, communal, and safe information about their health, especially their periods. Organizations exist to aid in family planning and encourage sexual responsibility - but these campaigns are targeted towards older teens. The aim of this project is to harness technology tools, especially mobile technology, that teenage girls use every day, in a private and accessible setting, to pull together a community of girls to learn about their menstrual cycles, monitor their menstruation and ask relevant questions. Develop an application that acts as a daily educational tool and myth buster based on the individual female's data and determine trends unique to her menstrual cycle to be able to provide relevant feedback.
