Dr. Sumit Kumar Singh is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence at SR University, India. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in Thermal and Fluid Engineering, from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. His research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven modelling to complex engineering and scientific problems.
Dr. Singh has undertaken postdoctoral and research appointments at universities and research institutions in South Korea and Luxembourg. His research spans machine learning, predictive modelling, fire safety and evacuation analysis, computational fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and advanced cooling technologies. He has published 18 articles in SCIE-indexed journals, including more than 13 as first author and over eight in Q1 journals.
At SR University, his teaching responsibilities include Advanced Data Science, High-Performance Computing, Data Analytics and Visualization, Deep Reinforcement Learning, and Python Programming Lab. His broader academic interests include developing data-driven computational methods, interdisciplinary research, and AI-based approaches to scientific and engineering challenges.
