I am Dr. Pavan Kumar Chennam. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and have also taken the responsibilities of the assistant dean of research in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SR University, Warangal. I did my PhD in Advanced Materials and Nanosciences from the Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. I have done my bachelor and master’s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and VLSI-CAD respectively. I did my MSc in Micro and Nano Systems Engineering from Technische Universität Chemnitz, Germany.
My Research by me involves the integration of materials science and nanotechnology into electrical engineering, with a special emphasis on carbon fibers, metal oxide structures, photocatalysis, batteries, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging. I have experience in fiber spinning processes like electrospinning and centrifugal spinning, and deposition processes like atomic layer deposition (ALD), vapor phase infiltration (VPI), physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), dip-coating, and sol-gel processing. I have advanced knowledge of advanced material characterization processes, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, and photoluminescent (PL) spectroscopy. My PhD focused on the study of the photocatalytic function of PAN-derived carbon fibers via TiO2 nanostructurization.
I have published several papers internationally and have collaborated with researchers at IWW, CEITEC, CIC nanoGUNE, and TU Munich. In my role as a Professor, supervising postgraduate students, and in research coordination, I plan to enhance the scope of interdisciplinary learning and international collaboration.
