Dr. Ramesh Gomasa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at SR University, Warangal, Telangana, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Mahindra University, Hyderabad, and his research expertise lies in the integration of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), Smart Materials and Sensing Technologies, Sustainable Concrete, Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE), and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) applications in Civil Engineering. His research focuses on embedded sensor-integrated approaches for lifecycle assessment of blended concrete systems such as strength, structural damage, and long-term durability, with particular emphasis on embedded piezoelectric sensors and electromechanical impedance (EMI)-based monitoring techniques. With extensive experimental research experience, Dr. Gomasa has investigated the mechanical performance, damage evolution, and durability characteristics of sustainable and blended concrete systems under mechanical loading and aggressive environmental exposure. His work integrates advanced sensing techniques, experimental investigations, statistical analysis, and machine learning models to support reliable structural condition assessment and predictive infrastructure maintenance.
He has contributed research articles to reputed international journals, including Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Building Engineering, and Measurement (Elsevier), along with book chapters and international conference publications. His scholarly contributions advance the integration of smart sensing technologies and data-driven approaches for resilient, sustainable, and intelligent civil infrastructure. His broader research vision is to bridge conventional structural engineering with emerging digital technologies, developing innovative, cost-effective, and non-destructive monitoring solutions that enhance structural safety, infrastructure durability, and sustainable construction practices.
