I am Dr. Mukaddar Sk, a physicist and computational materials scientist specializing in density functional theory (DFT), computational catalysis, and machine learning-assisted materials design. I completed my Ph.D. in Materials Science from SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), Chennai, in March 2024, focusing on lead-free halide double perovskites for photovoltaic, thermoelectric, and spintronic applications.
I have approximately three years of postdoctoral research experience at the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan, where I worked on computational catalysis using DFT, microkinetic modelling, kinetic Monte Carlo simulations, and machine learning techniques. My research interests include electrocatalysis, CO₂ reduction, green hydrogen production, renewable energy materials, and sustainable functional materials.
I have authored more than 53 research publications in reputed scientific journals, including leading journals in materials science, energy, and chemistry. My research focuses on combining first-principles calculations and data-driven approaches to understand material properties, identify promising catalysts, and develop efficient materials for clean energy applications.
Alongside research, I am passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations. My long-term goal is to establish impactful research directions in computational materials science and sustainable energy technologies while contributing to quality higher education and scientific innovation.
