Short Academic Introduction
I am Dr. Ashim Pramanik, an Associate Professor of Physics in the Department of Basic Science, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, SR University, Warangal, India. I am also a former Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellow, with research experience in advanced optical materials and photonic technologies.
Research Interests
My research primarily focuses on nanophotonics, random lasers, nonlinear optics, and light–matter interactions, with particular emphasis on developing functional nanomaterials for next-generation photonic applications. My research interests include Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET), tunable luminescent materials, quantum dots, two-dimensional materials, and solution-processed optical materials. I am particularly interested in exploring FRET-engineered random lasers, nonlinear optical phenomena, all-optical switching, and photonic security technologies. My broader research vision is to bridge fundamental optical physics with emerging applications in optical communication, sensing, and information security.
Teaching Interests
My teaching interests encompass electromagnetism, optics and photonics, semiconductor physics, electronic devices, and fundamental electrical and electronic engineering. I aim to integrate fundamental physical principles with practical applications, experimental demonstrations, and research-inspired learning. My teaching philosophy emphasizes conceptual understanding, analytical problem-solving, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning to prepare students for emerging scientific and technological challenges.
