My research interests lie at the intersection of horror literature, urban studies, spatial theory, and cultural studies, with a particular focus on American horror fiction. My research examines the representation of urban spaces in American horror literature of the 1970s and 1980s, exploring how cities become sites of alienation, anxiety, social fragmentation, and existential crisis. I am particularly interested in the relationship between urbanism, neoliberalism, and the changing sociopolitical landscapes of horror narratives.

My broader research engages with contemporary horror fiction, cosmic horror, and the New Weird, with an emphasis on nonhuman agency, ecological entanglements, and the destabilisation of anthropocentric worldviews. I explore how representations of fungi, monstrous bodies, and incomprehensible entities challenge established biological, philosophical, and ontological boundaries. My work also investigates the intersections of infrastructure, technology, and horror, examining how material environments and everyday systems can generate forms of fear and estrangement. In addition to American horror, I am interested in postcolonial spatialities, Indian speculative fiction, and the cultural politics of space. Through interdisciplinary approaches, my research seeks to understand how horror literature registers broader transformations in social relations, urban experience, ecological thought, and the human understanding of existence.
