My research usually begins with images. I work on comics and graphic narrative, and I am drawn most to graphic medicine and graphic journalism, where drawing becomes a way of holding illness, pain and testimony that prose often lets slip. Much of my work reads literature and film from the Global South through postcolonial thought and the environmental humanities, especially where ecological harm meets ordinary life. Underneath this sits a growing concern with ethics and justice as they look from the Global South: who is asked to bear harm, who gets to name it, and what accountability could mean when the frameworks we inherit were built elsewhere.
