Dr. Arnab Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SR University, Warangal, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, and has completed his postdoctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee.
During his postdoctoral research at IIT Roorkee, he worked extensively on hydraulic turbomachinery, including Francis turbines, reversible pump-turbines, and low-head hydraulic turbines, contributing to industry-collaborative research projects involving GE, Voith, and Andritz.
His primary research interests include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermal engineering, infrared signature suppression, hydraulic turbomachinery, and renewable energy systems. He possesses expertise in numerical simulations, experimental investigations, turbulence modelling, and performance optimization of complex engineering systems.
Dr. Mukherjee has authored and co-authored over 29 SCI-indexed journal publications, including research articles in reputed international journals published by Elsevier, ASME, and Taylor & Francis.
With over three years of teaching experience, he is actively engaged in undergraduate education, doctoral research supervision, and interdisciplinary research activities. His teaching expertise includes Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, CFD, and Python Programming.
His future research aims to integrate physics-based numerical modelling, , and digital twin technologies for developing sustainable, efficient, and intelligent thermal and fluid engineering systems.
