Dr. Rohit Singh is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at SR University, Warangal, where he also serves as Assistant Dean (PG) and Assistant Dean (Library). He holds a Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee (2023), an M.Tech from NIT Rourkela and a B.Tech from IET Bhaddal. He was previously a Post-Doctoral Fellow at IIT Bombay and an Assistant Professor at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur.
His research connects atomistic simulation with experimental manufacturing. He combines molecular dynamics (LAMMPS) with SEM, XRD and EBSD characterization. Using these methods, he studies fatigue crack growth, anisotropic mechanical behaviour and dislocation mechanisms in additively manufactured alloys, as well as the sintering of nano tungsten carbide. His broader interests include additive manufacturing (WAAM, SLS, SLA, FDM), rapid tooling, machining with internally cooled cutting tools, fuel cells and hydrogen embrittlement in metals.
Dr. Singh has published 13 journal articles in venues including Journal of Materials Science, Engineering Failure Analysis and Computational Materials Science. He also has 3 conference papers and 2 published patents, with 218 citations and an h-index of 10. He currently supervises two Ph.D. scholars and has chaired sessions at the Congress on Control, Robotics, and Mechatronics (CRM 2025 and 2026).
