Dr. Kamarapu Santhosh Kumar is a mechanical engineering researcher and faculty member affiliated with SR University, Warangal, Telangana, India. He holds an M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal (2009–2011) and completed his doctoral research as a Research Scholar in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Jabalpur (2019–2024).His research focuses on tribology, bio-tribology, nano-lubrication, and sustainable manufacturing. He has made significant contributions to the development and evaluation of nano-enhanced biolubricants (including palm-mineral blends, graphene-based formulations, and coconut-oil nanofluids) for improving lubrication performance, reducing friction and wear, and mitigating surface fatigue in roller bearings and steel-steel contacts. His work also extends to advanced materials and structural engineering, particularly topology optimization of thin-walled honeycomb cores for enhancing the air-blast mitigation performance of steel sandwich panels. Additional research interests include sustainable lubricants, graphene nanostructures for nano-lubrication, vibration analysis of bearing systems, and aspects of engineering education and Industry 4.0-related technologies.
